I just came back yesterday, but I still can’t walk through the beautiful itinerary of the northwest: Day 1: Xining - Qinghai Lake - Chaka Salt Lake - Delingha; Day 2: Delingha - Crossing the Qaidam Basin - Emerald Lake - Dunhuang Silk Road Heritage City (man-made attractions are not recommended) - Dunhuang; Day 3: Dunhuang - Mogao Grottoes - Mingsha Mountain Crescent Lake; Day 4: Dunhuang - Jiayuguan (under construction, cultural significance but no ornamental significance) - Colorful Danxia - Zhangye; Day ⑤: Zhangye-Qilian Mountain Grand Canyon and grassland (beautiful with snow!)-Xining The whole journey was more than 2k kilometers and the road was dangerous, so I shared a car and found a tour leader. The approximate cost was: Round trip high-speed rail from Xi'an to Xining 500/person; = Tickets (only Mogao Grottoes has graduate student discounts, most attractions have undergraduate student tickets at half price Price) 500/person; Accommodation (off-season accommodation is cost-effective, 500/person/5 days; carpooling 1100/person; Meals 50-100/person/day (depends on individual) You can play for 5 days with less than 3k per person. You can go to the northwest in the off-season!
