Longxi Ancient Village, Guangchang, Jiangxi Province

Longxi Village is an administrative village in Ganzhu Town, famous for the discovery of the only complete dinosaur fossil south of the Yangtze River. In 2004, a dinosaur fossil was discovered about 600 meters away from the 1986 discovery site, which attracted great attention from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Walking into Longxi Village, you will see many ancient buildings with high walls and deep courtyards, blue bricks and black tiles, and each building is hidden behind another. There are the Yuan Dynasty Shigong Yuelong Bridge, the Ming Dynasty Wenfeng Academy, Wenfeng Dam, and the Qing Dynasty "Bangyan Di" (residence of the second place winner in the imperial examination), Shiyu Ancestral Hall, Huichuan Ancestral Hall, Fangchi Ancestral Hall, and many ancient dwellings that were once used as Red Army camps. Raojiabao in the village was an important position in the Battle of Guangchang in 1934, and there are the former site of the headquarters of the First and Third Red Army Corps, the Raojiabao Battle Site Group, and the Memorial Hall of Martyr Rao Fulin. It is one of the sixth batch of Chinese traditional villages and a famous red village in Jiangxi Province.
