Lin Zexu Memorial Hall

Lin Zexu Memorial Hall is located at No. 16, Macao Road, Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It is a typical representative of Fuzhou's ancient houses. In 1905, the 31st year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the descendants and disciples of the Lin family raised funds to build the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall. During the Republic of China, the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall was used as a garrison. After 1949, the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall was used as a dormitory for government agencies, and later residents moved in. In December 1961, the Preparatory Committee of the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall in Fuzhou City was officially established, and the address was designated as the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall. In November 1977, the Fuzhou Cultural Relics Management Committee was restored, and the establishment of the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall in Fuzhou was immediately put on the important agenda. In 1982, with the support of the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government, the Fuzhou Cultural Relics Management Committee took back the front half of the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall, solving the problem of the museum site that had not been solved since the establishment of the museum in 1961. In November of the same year, the restoration and repair of the front half of the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall was completed, the exhibition of "Lin Zexu's Life and Cultural Relics" was completed, and the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government approved the establishment of the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall in Fuzhou. On June 26, 2009, the new Lin Zexu Memorial Hall was officially opened to the public, and the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall restored the original function of the ancestral hall as a restoration exhibition, and the new museum displayed the exhibition of Lin Zexu's historical achievements.
