SAMANTHA MEDINA

What is this treasure of a hotel? Stroll around Sanfang Qixiang during the day, and soak in the hot springs at night~

The biggest surprise of my trip to Fuzhou was discovering an incredibly hidden gem of a hotel: the Sanfang Qixiang Shuxiang Wenru Hotel. Just by its name, you can tell it has an excellent location, situated right in Wenru Lane, one of the famous Sanfang Qixiang spots in Fuzhou. While others are still on their way, we're already sleeping inside the scenic area. It's not only convenient to wander around Sanfang Qixiang day and night, but also to walk to West Lake Park and the Fujian Museum—truly convenient!~ The hotel itself is also exceptional, with a high aesthetic value, perfectly embodying Chinese courtyard design and aesthetic. After all, this hotel was once called Wenfan. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by the subtle and refreshing scent of tea, and you can see the colorful koi fish swimming towards you in the corridor pool. The rocks, trees, and plants in the pool are elegantly shaped, and the nearby book corridor instantly maximizes the holiday atmosphere. The hotel's food is delicious. Yao Chen, Karen Mok, Yang Liping, Jack Ma, and even the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia have stayed here or dined at the Wenru Min Cuisine Restaurant next door. Just the breakfast alone was stunning to me. In the courtyard under the skywell, with little bridges over flowing water and lush vegetation, the chef stands by ready to make noodles and cook fish balls. Children feed the fish by the water, while peanut soup simmers steaming hot in the pot, and tea eggs release a fragrant aroma as they bubble away. The sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and egg tarts being cooked over the stove are already golden brown. Such a homely and beautiful breakfast can keep me comfortably seated for 2 hours. After eating, I can have tea and chat with my mom, watching my daughter tirelessly feed the fish and run around in the yard. The rooms are also a highlight. When staying here, you must choose the Shuxiangmendi Golden Soup Room, where you can soak in a private hot spring right in your room. The pool is super large, and my little 'kitty' can even swim around in it like a fish... Before coming, I did my research; Fuzhou is one of the three 'Hot Spring Capitals of China' officially recognized, and the hot springs in Fuzhou are right in the city. The Wenru Shuxiang Hotel is a genuine hot spring hotel. Thinking about the price of a private hot spring soak for kids in the north, I feel like the room rate is instantly justified, and I even made a profit~ In my own room, drinking Da Hong Pao tea, eating the hotel's provided soft-boiled egg snacks, sipping on green plum wine, soaking as long as I want, as many times as I want, and then falling asleep to the scent of tea—truly a heavenly life.
