🔔 Fuzhou is known as the 'Banyan City'. In Fuzhou Forest Park, there is an ancient banyan tree that is nearly a thousand years old, which is an indispensable topic in the history of Fuzhou's banyan trees. 🔔 This ancient banyan is a small-leaved fig, a species of evergreen tree in the Moraceae family, also known as the red-skinned fig. It was planted during the Northern Song Dynasty by Zhang Boyu, the prefect of Fuzhou at that time. Hence, it is called the 'King of Banyan Trees' and is regarded as a symbol of Banyan City, Fuzhou. ⛩️ East Gate of Fuzhou Forest Park (Fuzhou Botanical Garden) 📍 Detailed address: Fuzhou National Forest Park, Chiqiao, Xindian Town, Jin'an District, Fujian Province, Fuzhou City 🎫 Tickets🎫 Free. The cable car at the East Gate costs 10 yuan per person, taking you to the Longtan Scenic Area. 🌳 The car usually departs once it is full. (It is recommended to enter from the East Gate as there are more routes to explore) 🚌 Transportation Guide 👉 Bus routes: Buses to the Forest Park include No. 54, 72, 84, 87, 328, 527. There is currently no direct subway 🚇 access. 👍🏻 Recommended spots Peach Blossom Source, Cherry Blossom Garden, Osmanthus Garden, Crape Myrtle Garden, Thousand-Year-Old Banyan Tree, Pigeon Square (the pigeons are not afraid of people and will rush towards you and surround you), Longtan (be mentally prepared as the water flow is not strong this season and the pool is not very clear). 📝 Tips to note: ⭕ Visiting the Longtan waterfall is optional, as it is a very small waterfall. ⭕ Note that entry is prohibited 🚫 after 16:00. ⭕ There is a tourist sightseeing car at the entrance of the scenic area (10 yuan per person) for those who want an easy trip, you can take the sightseeing car to the end. After visiting Longtan near the end point, take a leisurely walk down. ⭕ The metasequoia forest in the Forest Park turns yellow usually in autumn and winter. Remember to come here for photos when the leaves turn yellow, as every frame is a masterpiece. ⭕ The mosquitoes in the deep mountains are quite harmful, mosquito repellent spray is no longer useful, it is still recommended to use physical mosquito protection (long pants).
