When I was planning my Fukuoka itinerary, I suddenly remembered that I still had five suite vouchers that were about to expire at the end of the year, so I used 74k points to redeem a night at the Ritz-Carlton and used a suite voucher to upgrade to a Hakata Bay view room. I stayed on the 20th floor and could see the sea in Fukuoka. The entrance is unremarkable and blends in with the surroundings, but as soon as you enter the hotel and the automatic door closes behind you, the grid and light and shadow draw you in. The overall style is bright and simple but not lacking in depth. I learned from the official website that the hotel's design concept is inspired by the local traditional craft of "weaving." The interior features modern Japanese design, with solid wood as the theme, blending the traditions and old and new styles of international cities, providing a retreat-like space and comfort in a bustling metropolis. It was already evening when I checked in. The Platinum Card doesn't include breakfast, but I got a 4 pm check-out. Breakfast costs about 5,000+ yen per person, and I was going to a bakery the next morning, so I didn't think much about it. The water in the room is from Nordaq in Sweden (the bottle is very beautiful, and I took it home to use as a vase), and the toiletries are Diptyque. Some details: ① There is fruit and ice water in the lobby downstairs in the morning for joggers (p17). The official recommended route is from the hotel to Ohori Park, where the Fukuoka Art Museum is located. ② The dry landscape at the elevator entrance when checking in (p6). I saw someone redoing it when I went out the next day. ③ The hotel staff will bow and greet you at the elevator door and wait for the elevator door to close before leaving. ④ The flower vases in the elevator are very delicate (p12), and the flowers in each elevator are different. The hotel is downstairs from the Tenjin shopping district, and there are many delicious restaurants on the second floor of the Daimyo Garden City next door. Overall, it was a great experience. It was the first time I asked for a room card as a souvenir when I checked out, but it probably won't be the last.
