It only takes 30 minutes by ferry from Hakata Port to reach this small island on Hibiki Beach. ## Visit the Torii Forest and Shrine After getting off the boat, we first went to the famous Torii Forest on the island. Stroll along the stone steps and through the passageway formed by hundreds of red torii gates, and feel the rich sacred atmosphere. Afterwards, I visited the most important shrine on the island - Motonosumi Shrine. This shrine, built in the 16th century, enshrines Japan's eight million gods and is a holy place for devout worship by local residents. While paying homage and bathing in the sacred and peaceful atmosphere, I felt the long history and cultural heritage of this island. ## Strolling through the quaint village After leaving the shrine, I strolled along the village paths, admiring the traditional residential buildings that the islanders have preserved to this day. These quaint houses built of stone and wood exude a strong rural flavor. Walking through the narrow alleys, I also saw several elderly people basking in the sun or chatting, and felt the leisurely and comfortable pace of life here. ## Exploring the secrets of nature After enjoying the culture of Nokonoshima, I headed to the natural secret at the southern end of the island - Ryuguhana. There are magnificent sea caves here, which are said to be the abode of the dragon god. I walked slowly down the rugged mountain path, admiring the clear blue water, the cool sea breeze, and the strange rocks along the way. Finally, I stood on the edge of the cliff and admired the magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean, my heart filled with awe and admiration. ## Leisure time before returning Before returning, I strolled around the harbor of the island for a while, watching the fishing boats coming in and out, and feeling the unique leisurely atmosphere of the island. I also tried fresh seafood dishes in a local tavern and savored the unique food culture here. This one-day trip to Nokonoshima left me with a deep impression of this island.
