The building that stands out on the street corner of Fukuoka Tenjin is the nationally designated tangible cultural property "Fukuoka City Red Brick Cultural Center (formerly the Kyushu Branch of Nippon Life Insurance Co., Ltd.)". Completed in 1909 (Meiji 42). Designed by architects Tatsuno Kingo and Kataoka Yasushi. Tatsuno is also known for the design of Tokyo Station. Although it is a compact building, the impact of the red brick and white stone on the walls and the roof with its spire and dome make an impressive design. There is a conference room on the second floor that can be used for a fee, and a cafe on the first floor. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 22:00. Admission is free, so why not stop by anytime?
