Exploring Lake Kawaguchi by Bike

#kawaguchiko Cycling is the best to get around the lake. There are bike rentals just outside the train station and it is only priced from 1500 yen for a full day rental until 7pm. Riding on the bike allows you to experience the beauty of the lake and scenery around the lake area at your own pace. The ride around the lake is relatively easy (though a mountain bike is recommended for comfort). It’s a 20km route with flat terrains so it’s doable for many people. It can be completed in 3 hours cycling at a leisurely pace. There are many wild flowers around the cycling route so it’s a pretty sight while riding on the bike. Mount Fuji can even be seen at certain parts of the journey on a clear and cloudless day. It is recommended to start the ride early in the morning to avoid the crowd. Food options around the lake are aplenty. I recommend Hoto noodles, a local dish made of miso broth and handmade noodles. This dish has a rich broth with many vegetables and meat in it as well, and makes a perfect meal to fuel the rest of the ride.
