Shell Beach

#thingstodo We liked this beach, especially because we could walk to it from the ship terminal area. It's in a lovely cove and covered with shells which are okay to lie on with a beach towel but walking on it to the water is nothing but tough unless you are wearing water shoes. The water is delightful and relatively calm - snorkelers are safe too. The lounges cost 50 Euros each - ridiculous - and the restaurant on the beach is a bit stuffy - the employees didn't want to bother with us rift raft. Be prepared for women going topless even though families were in the same area. This beautiful beach with pink shells on shore and in the water glows - lively, casual-elegant lunch spot Shellona has tables (in the sand), day rental chaises with umbrellas for 50E each and table service, and a nice bar for a coffee or snack up top inside. Gorgeous boutique Sunday is attached to the restaurant. Beach has rocks/coral just off short, steps into the water, so bring goggles or mask/snorkel to see fish, urchins, coral. There are boulders along the beach to find a little privacy nook for yourself, especially if you wish to sunbathe topless. Boats visit and you will see Sea-does pulling people around. Great for families and children, fun, music is playing from the restaurant. Easy parking, beach is just beyond Gustavia marina a few streets. Shellona has 15E valet parking if you wish. You can also easily walk into town for shops/ food/stroll along the harbor from there. Very easy beach access.
