🇳🇿【Fox Glacier】Glacier Heli Hike

I remember the day I went to Fox Glacier to do the Glacier Heli Hike. We flew to Upper Glacier in about 4 minutes by helicopter. The scenery along the way was really spectacular. We watched the glacier slowly turn into a river and lamented the impact of global warming on the environment. The snow-white ice sheets of the glaciers and the blue ice caves are simply a wonderland on earth. After disembarking from the helicopter, our guide took us on small steps over the glacier on crampons. Every step was novel, seeing some blue ice could not believe their eyes, as crystal clear as gems. As we walked, the guide explained a lot of the geology of the glacier, which was really interesting. The trip was truly unforgettable for a lifetime, not only because of the beauty, but also because of the rare experience. Fox Glacier is located very close to the ocean on the west coast of New Zealand, a sight of this kind of glacier coexisting with temperate rainforests is very rare worldwide. #June Good Places 2024 #New Zealand South Island #New Zealand
