Sanhe Town Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Ancient City Wall

Back then, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom had several confrontations with the Qing Dynasty in Hefei. The famous victory of Sanhe took place in the ancient town of Sanhe in Hefei. Therefore, a section of the ancient city wall from the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period was left behind. The tall city wall, the tall towers, these are the famous attractions in the ancient town of Sanhe in Hefei - the ancient city wall of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. In the autumn and winter of 1858, the Taiping Army and the Xiang Army met face to face in Sanhe Town, Anhui. In order to strengthen the city's defense, the Taiping Army, which occupied the ancient town of Sanhe, specifically built and reinforced the city wall. On the city wall, several artillery platforms were also built, with the aim of striking the Xiang Army when they attacked. It was thanks to this solid city defense, full preparation, and the wise command of Chen Yucheng that the victory of Sanhe ended with the defeat of the Xiang Army and the death of the famous general Li Xubin. This section of the ancient city wall was thus preserved. However, the ancient city wall you see now has been repaired later.
