The Tianyan Fan Clan Ancestral Hall is located in Tianyan Village, Dongshan Township, Fanshi County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. It is 40 kilometers west of Fanshi County, north of the Hutuo River, and adjacent to the Yanshan Temple, a national key cultural relic protection site. It is one of the family ancestral halls in Fanshi County with a large scale, standardized shape, fine workmanship, and solemn majesty. The Tianyan Fan Clan Ancestral Hall covers an area of ​​more than 4,000 square meters. It has an antique Chinese-style structure and a total of more than 40 houses of various types. The plaque on the archway in front of the ancestral hall, "Heaven rewards hard work", was written by calligrapher Lu Jixiang, with powerful strokes. Hanging above the tall and solemn gate are four large characters "Fan Clan Ancestral Hall" written by Hu Fuguo, former secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, which shine brightly. It is one of the largest brick-and-wood structures in Shanxi. The east side hall of the theater is an exhibition room for the life and deeds of veteran Red Army soldier Fan Junjie. The west side hall of the stage is arranged as a complete map of the Tianyan Fan family genealogy. An exhibition of historical figures of the Tianyan Fan family is set up in the east side hall of the ancestral hall's backyard.
