North Wudang Mountain

Located in Luliang City, Shanxi Province, North Wudang Mountain is the birthplace of Taoism in China. The scenic area is located in Beiwudang Town, Fangshan County, Luliang City. It is very convenient to drive there according to the navigation instructions. It is more than ten kilometers from the highway exit to the scenic area. The residential areas along the way are dense, so you must follow the speed limit requirements to ensure safety. When you arrive at the entrance of the scenic area, you need to delete the ticket (online ticket purchase is convenient and discounted) and pay ten yuan to park your car in the middle of the mountain, which is more than ten minutes away by car, to make climbing easier (this convenience may not be available during peak seasons or periods). The parking lot in the middle of the mountain can go to the giant statue on the south side first and then climb the mountain on the north side. North Wudang Mountain looks not high, but it is steep and majestic. The main peak is almost surrounded by cliffs, and there is only one artificial ladder to climb. The ladder has more than 1,450 steps, and there are railings and iron cables in dangerous places. Visitors can hear the melodious "stone sound" with every step. According to this route, it takes about two hours for tourists with average physical strength to go back and forth. When going down the mountain, be sure to pull the railings and iron cables to ensure safety. On the return trip, you can visit the ancient town of Qikou, which is about 60 kilometers away, according to your personal preference. It is about 50 or 60 kilometers away from the urban area of Luliang City, but mainly the national and provincial roads, so you need to drive carefully.
