Village at the source of Erhai Lake, Fengyu Bazi in early winter

Fengyu Town is located at the source of Erhai Lake, behind the Yunong Peak of Diancang Mountain. It is named after the legend that "the phoenix died here, and hundreds of birds gathered to hang it and become feathers." The Fengyu Confucian Temple (Fengxiang Academy) located in Fengxiang Village was first built in the fourth year of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1726). It was burned down twice by soldiers and bandits. After the Dacheng Hall was restored three times in 1931, the Confucian Temple was renamed Fengyu Academy: Langqiong. One of the seven academies in the county (today's Eryuan County). Nowadays, the scholarly courtyard is well-preserved, and the ancient ginkgo trees in the academy that are more than 300 years old are an internet celebrity check-in place in late autumn and early winter. Sanye Spring, located at the foot of Tianma Mountain in the southeast of Fengyu Bazi, is one of the sources of Erhai Lake. The nearest village to it is Caojia Village. From a distance, the vegetation on Tianma Mountain, the remnant of Cangshan Mountain, is not very dense, but from a closer look, there are towering ancient trees around Sanye Spring, completely hidden in the dense forest. It is located in a remote place with not many tourists. The spring water gushes out of the mountain stream in large quantities and the pool water is crystal clear. In 2010, Fengyu Town was listed as a famous historical and cultural town in China; in 2014, Fengxiang Village in Fengyu Town was included in the list of traditional Chinese villages. On the morning of December 6th, we drove from Xiaguan, Dali. We used Amap to reach Fengyu Academy in an hour and a half, and then went to Sanye Spring. There are no tickets for these two attractions. For lunch, I checked through Gaode and found a farm restaurant near the town police station. I never thought it tasted great, including loach tofu soup, fried mutton jelly... It is said that autumn is the best season in Fengyu Bazi. Fengyu terraces, riverside flower sea, and rice field theater make people forget to leave. In addition, spring is also a good time. Every year from mid-February to early March, thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers are in full bloom in Fengyu Bazi, making it a favorite among photographers. In 1639 AD, the great traveler Xu Xiake once visited Fengyu. Facing the beautiful scenery of Fengyu Bazi, he wrote: "All fertile fields are connected, and the valleys become villages. The winding gorge leads to the secluded place, and Linggao lives on the water. In ancient times, Zhuchen Village, the peach blossom garden, has been exhausted, but this one is still left, which is also a great wonder.
