The pink sand of Elafonisi Beach 🇬🇷

#beachcheck Just got back from Elafonisi Beach in Crete, and I can’t stop thinking about it! 🌺🏖️ The place is absolutely stunning, with its pink sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters—it feels like a piece of paradise. The beach is free to enter, and it’s easy to spend the whole day just lounging, swimming, and soaking up the sun. The shallow waters make it perfect for families, and you can walk across the lagoon to a small islet that feels like your own private beach. 🌊 We also explored the Elafonisi Nature Reserve, where the dunes and rare plants create a unique landscape. The area is a protected habitat for loggerhead turtles, so it’s important to be respectful of the environment while you’re there. Just a short drive away, the Chrysoskalitissa Monastery is perched on a hill with breathtaking views of the sea—definitely worth a visit! For lunch, we found a cozy taverna nearby and enjoyed some fresh Greek salad, tzatziki, and seafood. 🦑 The laid-back vibe of Elafonisi Beach makes it perfect for relaxing, but there's also plenty of natural beauty to explore if you're up for it.
