Eguisheim: The Fairy-Tale Village of Alsace

#falladventures When you're in Colmar, everyone will recommend visiting the surrounding villages. We chose this charming, medieval village, which has been inhabited since the Paleolithic era. It consists of cobblestone streets arranged in concentric circles around the central square. Naturally, the facades feature wooden beams, the houses are colorful and fairy-tale-like, and flowers are everywhere. Once again, I couldn't resist capturing all these details 😉 A few years ago, this village was voted the most beautiful village in France. On the main square stands a fountain with a statue of Pope Leo IX, who was born in this village in 1002! The region is also famous for its wines, with wineries and wine cellars at every turn. The most renowned grape varieties are Gewurztraminer and Riesling.
