Muttart Conservatory

#December Travel Grant Overwhelming Harmony of Architectural Beauty and Plants (5/5 stars) The biggest attraction of the Murtatt Conservatory is its unique pyramid architecture. Towering under the gray December sky, the four glass pyramids evoke a futuristic feel while perfectly harmonizing with the natural vitality they embody. Thanks to the funding secured through my travel grant, I was able to leisurely explore the architectural details and internal structures of each pyramid. In particular, the light streaming in from the high ceilings of the tropical pyramids and the vertical space created by the tall palm trees were breathtaking. For photography enthusiasts, the exterior and interior of these pyramids are unmissable photo spots. It felt like appreciating a living work of art, combining architecture, plants, and science.

💫 The Edmonton Aurora Quest: Your Northern Lights Adventure

Terwillegar Park

Edmonton’s Nature-Filled Coastline Adventure 🌊🌿✨ Edmonton may not be famous for classic beaches, but its river valley and lakeside cliffs offer a hidden paradise for nature lovers! Start your day trekking along the lush cliffside trails where vegetation brushes up against dramatic views of rivers meeting the sky. The waves may be smaller than ocean surf, but the rhythmic rush against rocky outcrops is just as mesmerizing. Suggested route: Begin at one of Edmonton’s beloved river valley parks like Terwillegar Park or Whitemud Park. Follow the high trails for panoramic outlooks—clear skies mean dazzling sunlight bouncing off the water, perfect for wide landscape shots. Pause at the summit for that Insta-worthy moment: cliffside greenery framing sparkling rivers or ponds below. For a more secluded vibe, consider Laurier Park where quieter corners let you soak in the outdoor vibe. Must-do: Bring a picnic and settle atop a bluff overlooking the water, or just kick back beside a grove of indigenous trees and soak up the sunny cultural landscape. Early mornings are magic—catch the golden hour for unbeatable photos! Tips: Wear sturdy shoes as trails can be uneven and rocky in places, and don’t forget water and sunscreen—there’s minimal shade in some exposed spots. The area feels safe, but check local weather before you head out; river valley spots may get slippery after rain. Precautions: Stay on marked paths to prevent erosion and protect the fragile native vegetation. Watch the cliff edges—some areas can be steep, especially where the waves hit rock faces. #Edmonton #NatureVision #RiverValley #SunnyDay #OutdoorScenery
