The reason is simple, we thought it was just a place to check in, but we couldn't leave. The sand of Mingsha Mountain is very fine, and it feels great to step on, grab, and play with. The sunrise and sunset on the top of the sand mountain are also super beautiful—although I caught the right time both times, I missed both because I dawdled a little on the way, which is one of our biggest regrets in Dunhuang.
