Dunhua is located in the hinterland of Changbai Mountain. More than a thousand years ago, it was the capital of the Tang Bohai Kingdom. Hundreds of years later, the ancestor of the Qing Dynasty, Bukuri Yongson, lived here and named his tribe Manchuria. Therefore, Dunhua became the birthplace of the Manchu royal family. Liuding Mountain Cultural Tourism Area is located in the southern suburbs of Dunhua City. The scenic area includes Jinding Buddha, Buddhist Culture and Art Museum, Zhengjue Temple Qingzu Temple, Bohai Ancient Tombs, Zhang Xiaotian Literature Museum Qingzu Temple The "Draft History of Qing" records: "Dunhua, the ancestor of the Qing Dynasty lived in the city of Eudoli, which is here. According to legend, the ancestor of the Manchu people, Bukuri Yongson, was born after the heavenly girl Fokulun swallowed a red fruit. When he grew up, he quelled the rebellion of the three surnames and established the first regime of the Manchu people. In 1881, the Qing court established a county here and named it "Dunhua". In the Ancestral Temple, in the center is a seated statue of Bukuri Yongson, 8.5 meters high. Behind him is the genealogy of the Aisin Gioro family, and on both sides are seated statues of the twelve emperors of the Qing Dynasty. On the walls on both sides are large murals "Three Fairies Bathing", "The Ancestor of the Qing Dynasty Crossing the River" and "The Prosperous Era of the Qing Dynasty". It is said that the plaque "Qingzu Temple" hanging in the Ancestral Temple was written by Aisin Gioro Yuchan, a prince behind the scenes in China (the cousin of the last emperor Puyi). Zhengjue Temple A world-renowned nunnery. Enter through the archway gate, pass through the Fayin Square, and then pass through the five main halls of the Mountain Gate Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Mahavira Hall, the Guanyin Hall, and the Sutra Hall, which gradually rise with the mountain. Then climb the 20-story Prajna Heavenly Steps to reach the Buddha Viewing Platform. Jinding Buddha Located on the top of the mountain behind Zhengjue Temple, facing north and south, with a total height of 48 meters, it is the tallest bronze seated statue of Sakyamuni in the world. It echoes the Tian Tan Buddha in Hong Kong from north to south, and the two Buddhas together bless China. Buddhist Culture and Art Museum Located inside the base of the Jinding Buddha, you can visit with a ticket. The first floor is the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall. The architecture of the museum integrates classic statues, paintings, and carving techniques. The design aims to achieve a panoramic view of the Buddhist world through the use of sound and light technology. It is rumored that there is a pure gold statue in the museum. I don't know if it is the one in the Merit Hall on the third floor, or it may be gilded on the surface.
