This UNESCO World Heritage site, established in 256 BC, showcases an impressive feat of engineering that has been pivotal in flood prevention and agricultural irrigation over the centuries. Walking through this historical marvel, I gained a deep appreciation for China’s rich engineering history and cultural depth. We also strolled across the scenic Nanqiao Bridge in the center of Dujiangyan. This beautiful bridge, with its traditional architectural features, provided perfect photo opportunities and a peaceful moment to take in the local ambiance. To cap off the day, I savored the local flavors of Sichuan with a spicy hotpot meal, followed by a variety of mouth-watering skewers. The food was not only delicious but also an essential part of the cultural experience, highlighting the region’s culinary heritage.
