Howth - an essential day trip

Ireland is full of superb landscapes that make it very clear why its nickname: Emerald Isle. But, if your trip is limited to Dublin, you might think that much-hyped green color is missing. Nothing is further from reality. In addition to the capital's parks, you shouldn't miss out on visiting the small fishing village – well, increasingly more touristy and residential and less fishing – of Howth. A getaway of a few hours that will reconcile you with your idea of ​​the Irish green and almost an essential among the things to see in Dublin. Put on comfortable shoes and be prepared to do some walking. That was what we did with a nine-kilometre hiking trail –about three hours because the landscapes were well worth stopping constantly to photograph them– that took us from the station to the highest point on the peninsula and back.
