Legends and Cultural Significance Dray Nur Waterfall is steeped in local folklore. One legend tells of a tragic love story between a couple from rival villages who, unable to be together, leapt into the river, prompting a storm that split the river and separated the communities. Another tale speaks of a water deity’s son, Nur, who transformed into a golden dragonfly to return to his underwater palace, never to come back, leading locals to name the waterfall after him.
