You don't have to travel far to find poetry and the distant Liujiaxia Reservoir.

The magnificent dam Liujiaxia Reservoir is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau". The reservoir is located in a plateau canyon. The Yellow River makes a sharp 90-degree turn here and flows westward through the canyon. The majestic Liujiaxia Dam comes into view. The dam cuts off the Yellow River in the middle where it flows westward, just like the gate of heaven locked between cliffs. It is truly a one-man-guard-the-pass that ten thousand men cannot open. The Yellow River, with its unique "S" shape, gave birth to the "Waterside" in western China. "High gorges and flat lakes" and "water and sky are one color", the clear water of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau meets the turbid current of the Loess Plateau. Occasionally, a boat would quietly pass by on the glittering water, leaving behind a long water line. The yellow cruise ship blew across the sparkling river with the sound of its whistle.
