Wenbi Peak

Wenbi Peak is located in the central part of Ding'an County, Hainan Province. It rises from the flat ground and has beautiful mountain scenery. It is one of the eight famous scenic spots in Ding'an. Wenbi Peak is mainly composed of basalt and schist from the mountainside to the top. The mountain is covered with lush vegetation and is often surrounded by clouds and mist. Wenbi Peak, also known as Wenhao Ridge. "Wenbi" and "Literary Master" mean: literary talent, people with literary talent. In ancient times, many literati and talented people came from here. Wang Honghui, the Minister of Rites who was praised by Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty as "a master of three dynasties and a great man of his generation", was born in Longmei Village, Leiming Town, at the foot of Wenbi Peak. Wang Honghui wrote many works in his life and achieved great success in literature, including "Nanming Qiju Lu" and "Shangyoutang Manuscript". To this day, Longmei Village still has a Ming Dynasty archway with Hainan architectural characteristics built to commemorate Wang Honghui. The architectural design is simple, majestic, solid and generous, and it is called "Taishi Archway". Yuchan Palace is located at the foot of Wenbi Peak in Ding'an County, Hainan Province. It is the final retreat of Bai Yuchan, the actual founder of the Southern School of Taoism and the Fifth Patriarch of the Southern School. Yuchan Palace is the only legal Taoist temple in Hainan and is revered by Taoism as the "Southern Sect Altar". The theme building of Longpengxu Scenic Area was built to commemorate Bai Yuchan, a famous Taoist priest in the Song Dynasty who lived in seclusion in Lianhua Mountain to collect herbs and make elixirs, and to showcase the rich natural and cultural resources of Lianhua Mountain. Yuchan Palace has the largest Taoist architectural complex in the world, consisting of nearly 20 halls, including the Cihang Hall for praying for peace, the Yue Lao Hall for finding a good marriage, the Yuanchen Hall for blessing one's destiny, the Wenchang Pavilion for opening up wisdom, the Yaowang Hall for health and longevity, and the God of Wealth Hall for making a fortune.
