Kruk Lake Scenic Area, located in the northeastern part of the Qaidam Basin, adjacent to National Highway 315, with an altitude of 2816 meters and a lake area of 57 square kilometers. Kruk Lake is a slightly salty freshwater lake with clear water, calm lake surface, and beautiful scenery. Kruk Lake is the only medium-sized shallow grass lake suitable for freshwater aquaculture in Qinghai Province, and it is also the earliest established freshwater aquaculture base in the province. There are abundant natural nutrients here, which provide excellent conditions for the survival and development of fish. Because the freshwater fish in Kruk Lake are large, thick, fine, fresh, high in fat, and nutritious, they are very popular. The water of Kruk Lake is clear, the lake is calm, and the reeds are growing around it. It is not Jiangnan but better than Jiangnan. Every summer, the lush reeds are full of lakesides, and from a distance, it looks like a green forest belt. In early spring, when the ice of Kruk Lake begins to melt, flocks of black-necked cranes, speckled geese, seagulls, wild ducks and other rare birds fly from the distant Southeast Asian islands to Kruk Lake and Tosu Lake to build nests. Sunrise and sunset are the most beautiful and romantic times of Kruk Lake. The sunset, colorful clouds or dawn are reflected on the lake surface. The light penetrates from under the clouds, and the red light shines on the lake surface. The lake surface seems to be burning, making everything around it lose its original color.
