[Fukuoka/Dazaifu] Kanzeonji Temple, an ancient temple representing Kyushu

#FukuokaSightseeing [Kanzeonji Temple] 5-6-1 Kanzeonji, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0101 9:00-17:00 Kanzeonji Temple is a Tendai sect temple. It is one of the oldest temples in Kyushu, and construction began in the late 7th century. It is counted as one of the "Three Great Ordination Halls of Japan" along with Todaiji Temple in Nara and Shimotsuke Yakushiji Temple in Tochigi. The entrance fee to the treasure house of Kanzeonji Temple is 500 yen. Photography is not allowed inside, but there are several fairly large standing statues, which were impressive. Japan's oldest "Bonsho" (temple bell) was not there, as it is currently on display in the Kyushu National Museum Cultural Exchange Exhibition Room.
