Datong Museum’s “Wei Capital Pingcheng” Exhibition Hall (I) (II). Pingcheng (ancient Datong) was the capital of the Northern Wei Dynasty established by the Tuoba Xianbei. In 398, Tuoba Gui moved the capital to Pingcheng and proclaimed himself emperor, ushering in the Pingcheng era of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The exhibition hall is full of highlights, and the best ones are the cultural relics from the tombs of Song Shaozu and Sima Jinlong. 2️⃣ Exotic gold and silver glassware, especially "Northern Wei Blue" glass bottles. 3️⃣The mottled and simple Northern Wei murals.
