If you arrive early, you can go to the Hanging Temple first, because the Hanging Temple is about 60 to 70 kilometers away from Datong) 🏔️Recommended attractions: Yungang Grottoes, Hanging Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, Datong Museum and various attractions in the ancient city. Since our sister is young and has been to the Yungang Grottoes before, we only chose to visit the Hanging Temple and the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda in Datong this time. We mainly wandered around and ate and drank in the ancient city. It is highly recommended to visit the Hanging Temple. Be sure to remember to book tickets in advance. The number of people who can visit the temple each day is limited❗️ 🛏️Accommodation: Datong is not big, so we chose to stay in a hotel outside the ancient city with convenient parking. Drive to the scenic spots by yourself and take a taxi to the ancient city. I love Datong so much that I recommended this hidden gem to all my friends. The local people are very friendly and the taxi drivers are very nice! Low consumption and good food! If you don't want to visit the attractions in the ancient city, I recommend going there at night as it is cool and lively. For food, I highly recommend Zi Ni 369, Mulan's old vinegar ice cream, and the tofu skin opposite Mulan's. You can also try the sea buckthorn ice bread, which is very affordable but not very delicious. Remember to go to Zi Ni to get a number and queue up first, then go buy snacks! ☀️Day 3: Ulanqab Huitengxile Grassland 🏔️🏔️Recommended attractions: ⭐️Huitengxile Prairie: We chose to stay in a yurt, and there was a bonfire party and fireworks at night, which was very lively. Here comes the point 👀⚠️It’s very noisy! It's really noisy! Around ten o'clock, the bonfire parties in various homestays ended one after another, but some businesses were still singing karaoke, dancing and setting off firecrackers! Last till one o'clock! Other than that it feels pretty good. You can book a yurt in advance online. The one we booked was 378 yuan, which was enough for a family of four. The food in the yurt is not cheap, but it is not unacceptable either, so just be mentally prepared. (🤫You can also book one online, and then choose the one you like and negotiate the price with the owner directly. You can choose the one that suits you. There are so many yurts next to each other.) There are many horse riders nearby. I forgot whether it was 40 or 50 per horse. ☀️Day 4: We did not go to the Huanghuagou Scenic Area because we listened to the advice of the locals and were afraid that there would be too many people and the children would be tired. We went to a nearby ranch and enjoyed archery, grass skiing, train rides and horse riding. The kids had a lot of fun, especially grass sliding! The tour lasts about two hours. Volcano: Recommended. It takes two hours to drive from the ranch in Ulanqab to the volcano. We went there on Friday afternoon, and there was a traffic jam near the volcano, which lasted for about twenty minutes, which was acceptable. The first ones to arrive were numbers 7 and 8. You could choose one of the two. The kids were very happy to pick up agates at number 7. Not far away are Volcano No. 5 and No. 6. I recommend Volcano No. 6. I won’t say much here, as you can experience it yourself. You can bargain with the boss to rent an astronaut suit and get a smoke stick for free. ☀️Day 5: One-day tour in Hohhot ⛰️Recommended attractions: Inner Mongolia Museum, Dazhao Temple, Kuanxiangzi, Saishang Old Street We went to the museum in the morning, and on the way back we turned into Kuan Xiangzi for lunch. We tried Yang Lao Da's baked goods (can't say much, I personally think they were just average), and the milk skin rolls that were highly recommended online. You'll get sick of them if you eat too much. Sister Ma’s fruit soup is better than that of another restaurant (I forgot the name), and the steamed dumplings and mutton offal from Yulin’s time-honored restaurant are delicious. I went to Dazhao Temple in the evening to find some travel photography, and I was quite satisfied with it. If you need it, please send me a private message. Saishang Old Street is also there, we went shopping together ☀️Day 6: Hohhot to Ordos Yinkentala Desert I chose to go to Yinkentala instead of Xiangshawan because there were too many people❗️When I was making a travel guide, I saw people online saying that there were long queues for each activity and I was scared. It's hard to make a comparison because I haven't been to Xiangsha Bay, but overall I was satisfied with the experience in Yinkentala, and there was basically no queue. It costs more than 400 yuan per person, including tickets + project package, and the cable car is paid separately. It was still early after the fun, and the nearby accommodations were all B&Bs, which had average conditions and were not cheap. So we drove directly to Yulin for two hours to rest for a night. ☀️Day 7: Hukou Waterfall, Linfen, Shanxi Since I just happened to pass by, I wasn't tired at all and the tour took less than an hour. ☀️Day 8: Return to Zhengzhou I am so tired after writing this, I am editing and typing on my phone.
