🏔️ Trekking the Last Shangri-La — 📍Luorong Pasture → Milk Lake → Five-Colour Lake

If heaven had a postcode, this might be it. 💙 After two days of acclimatizing above 3,500m and packing a medical-grade oxygen tank, I was ready for one of the most breathtaking hikes I’ve ever done. Starting from Luorong Pasture, I trekked through stunning valleys, alpine forests and vast meadows, before reaching the glacial turquoise of Milk Lake and the ethereal hues of Five-Colour Lake at over 4,600m elevation. The air was thin but the beauty was overwhelming — snow-capped peaks mirrored in still waters, golden meadows swaying in the breeze, and prayer flags fluttering against the deep blue sky. Every step was a reminder of nature’s grandeur and the power of preparation. 🙏 💡Pro tips: ✔️ Acclimatize for 2–3 days above 3,500m before the hike ✔️ Bring oxygen cylinders – it helps immensely at high altitudes. I’m of average fitness and I need three cylinders ✔️ Start early to have sufficient time to complete the loop cos the shuttlebus stop operation at specific time (depending on season). Factor in the shuttle bus duration (15min) and the main bus back to entrance (1hr) ✔️ Trek poles, sun protection, and hydration are a must.
