Secret Realm of Western Sichuan｜Dangling Hulu Lake

The western region has never lacked beautiful scenery, and Western Sichuan is especially rich with hidden gems. Among the many well-known attractions, Dangling is relatively off the beaten path. To this day, it has not been developed into a tourist site and remains completely pristine. Going up the mountain relies entirely on motorcycles driven by villagers at high speed, with no protective gear at all. It is said that the chance of being thrown off is very high, so please choose to ride with caution. Starting from Dangling Village to Hulu Lake, the one-way distance is about 6.5 kilometers, with a 4-6 hour hike on a continuous uphill path, climbing approximately 800 meters in elevation. The round trip takes about 7-10 hours. Due to the high altitude, the climb is very tiring. Hulu Lake in autumn is truly beautiful, with snow-capped mountains reflected in the water and golden trees lining the shore, like a sapphire set with a ring of gold.
