Phonchai Temple

Wat Phon Chai, a beautiful ancient temple, is a temple of Dan Sai District, Loei Province. It was built at the same time as Phra That Si Song Rak. There is a large and beautiful Ubosot that is unique in the Lan Xang Luang Prabang style. Inside is Luang Pho Yai, an ancient and very sacred Buddha statue. Behind the big Buddha statue, there is a hole of a naga that was drilled in the past to pay homage. It is believed that the naga will protect the big Buddha statue.
