Budget travelers are moved to tears, you must stay at this place when you come to Dalian!

1️⃣ Location: The hotel is located in the center of Dalian, at Youhao Square. It is within walking distance to Youhao Square Metro Station, 1 km from Dalian Railway Station, and 12 km from the airport. The Russian Style Street and many specialty restaurants, especially the numerous Japanese restaurants around, make it extremely convenient for travel, whether by bus, metro, or driving. 2️⃣ Environment: The high-floor view is excellent, offering a sea view and a large part of Zhongshan District, as well as the distant harbor area. This hotel is reminiscent of the old Dalian, showing glimpses of its glorious past. It was top-notch over a decade ago, but it hasn't changed much over the years, just like the city of Dalian. 3️⃣ Room: The room is very large, about 60 square meters. I later found out that this room type is called an extra living room open-plan king suite. The facilities are somewhat outdated, as it opened in 2008 and was renovated in 2019. The renovation should have refreshed it, but some of the previous equipment and decorations are still old. The BOSE speakers are still the version that can play CDs, haha. However, it does not affect usage, and the maintenance is good. The toiletries are standard BYREDO. 4️⃣ Facilities & Service: I went there for a marathon, so I didn't use the pool or gym, so I won't comment on those. The service was quite good, attentive, and polite. 5️⃣ Restaurant: The hotel breakfast is very rich, with a wide selection of Chinese and Western dishes. There is a Japanese restaurant downstairs where I had dinner, and the taste was okay. Compared to Tianjin, Dalian is also a hotel desert, but Tianjin has many new hotels at low prices. Dalian has old, small hotels, haha. I still highly recommend the InterContinental Dalian. On one hand, I really like this brand and am a loyal IHG fan. On the other hand, the surrounding hotels like Shangri-La, New World, and Nikko are not great; they are only suitable for staying, not for enjoying. Of course, the Grand Hyatt at Xinghai Square and the Castle Hotel are on another level. Next time, I plan to try the Hard Rock Hotel and the newly opened Holiday Inn Express at Jinshitan.
