Dali Pagoda – A Place with a Strong Imprint of Chinese Epic

#aprilblooms Dali Pagoda is a system of three towers standing out in the sacred land of Dali. The largest pagoda was built first, 69.13m high, a square brick pagoda with dense eaves and a total of 16 floors. Later, two smaller pagodas in the South and North were built, both 42.19m high. Creating a pair of octagonal brick towers, each with 10 floors. The three Dali Pagodas consist of a large tower and two small towers on either side. The large tower, called Qianxun Tower, was built during the Quanfengyou period of Nanzhao (ie 823-859 AD), a 16-story square hollow brick tower with dense eaves, built in the typical architectural style of the ancient Tang Dynasty. The two smaller towers are designed with a tapering line from bottom to top, mainly in the architectural style typical of the Song Dynasty. Forming a pair of 10-story octagonal brick towers with dense eaves. The trio of Dali towers stands on a tripod, with the Qianxun Tower in the middle and two smaller towers guarding it from the north and south, looking very majestic and solid as if trying to protect the sacred land here.
