Beaches and War Relics in Dalaman, Türkiye

Sarsala Beach, Sarsala Restaurant 🔱Natural environment: Located near Dalaman Airport, surrounded by pomegranate trees, mountains, lakes, river deltas, and pine forests, the scenery is picturesque. As shown in the picture above☝🖼 The Dalaman region of Türkiye has experienced some wars and conflicts in history, leaving corresponding war traces, mainly related to World War I and some local conflicts later. 🔱Military fortifications: In the area around Dalaman, there may be fortifications such as trenches and bunkers built by the Ottoman army during World War I to defend against the Allied attacks. These fortifications were built by the Ottoman Empire to resist the landing operations of the British and French coalition forces. Some of the relics still exist today, such as the Gallipoli Peninsula, which has many well-preserved trench sites.  🔱War relics: Occasionally, weapons, ammunition, helmets, military uniform buttons, and other relics from World War I are found in the land of the region. These relics are physical witnesses of the war at that time. Some are collected in local museums, while others are in private hands or occasionally discovered by archaeological excavations. 🔱Traces of building damage: Some old buildings in the city of Dalaman show traces of bullet holes and shelling.
