I stayed at the world's most beautiful InterContinental for five nights. Is it really as good as the legend says?

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has always been known as the flagship branch of the InterContinental brand in Asia. It can be seen in many InterContinental promotional advertisements, which shows the status of the hotel in the InterContinental brand. InterContinental Da Nang is a resort that Bill Bensley spent six years to build. This is also the fifth hotel designed by Bill that I have personally checked in. The design absorbs the local architectural features of Vietnam. The black and white colors represent the black lacquered wood and white bricks in Vietnamese temples, a style that is too familiar. You can check in at InterContinental Da Nang while lying down. After getting off the bus, pass the pool in the middle, and you will see an open terrace facing the sea, with a large bed on each side, and the welcome drink is iced roselle water, and you can just lie on the bed and hand in your passport to the front desk. The hotel is built on the mountain. The lobby is the highest point in the entire resort. The guest rooms are located in descending order, named Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea respectively. The closer to the sea, the more expensive the room rate. In the vertical direction, there is a boat-shaped cable car Nam Tram that travels between various areas of the hotel. This time I stayed in a suite on the Heaven floor with a very average view. And after I complained about the poor attitude of the front desk receptionist, the guest relations department reluctantly gave me an upgrade. The room size is average, not much bigger than the beggar's room, and the balcony takes up a large area. Most of the monkeys here are not afraid of people, and will even jump onto the balcony of the guest room. Therefore, the hotel staff will repeatedly remind you to lock the balcony door when leaving the room. If you just close the door, the monkeys can still enter the room. The hotel also regards the monkey as its mascot, and monkey elements can be seen everywhere. The bathroom is quite large in comparison. Bill Bensley also has a personal characteristic of not partitioning the shower area. Every time you take a shower, you always worry that the water will splash out and wet the floor towel. The amenities are 45ml of Eau de Parma. The hotel offers many activities, the list of activities is displayed in the lobby, and reservations can be made in advance. The one I recommend most is the Nature Tour, which is to follow the guide to go outside the hotel to look for monkeys. There are also many water activities at the beach, the most distinctive of which is the traditional Vietnamese winnowing basket boat. Last year, the hotel renovated most areas, the most significant change being the unveiling of a new executive lounge. The style of the new lounge is very different from other areas of the hotel. The creamy white stone facade creates a romantic French style, and the bright blue seats and orange table lamps dotted in it make the whole space quite vibrant. The lounge afternoon tea is served in the form of a set, and the staff will prepare the number of sets according to the number of diners. The varieties will change every other day, but scones are available every day. Happy Hour is a semi-self-service restaurant. The food counter mainly serves desserts and cold dishes. The types of food vary slightly every day. There aren't many choices overall, but they're all pretty good. The hot dishes are presented in a three-course set and a small bowl of soup. Each hot dish and soup is only one mouthful in size. Additional meals are not provided. After all, the purpose of Happy Hour is not to fill your stomach. I think the breakfast in the executive lounge is the best meal of the three. It is a semi-self-service restaurant, and the food counter is filled with a wide variety of bread and hot dishes. The beverage area is also very interesting. In addition to most of the drinks that can be ordered individually, there are whole coconuts, BOTTEGA sparkling wine and the very popular natural fermented micro-bubble tea drink - kombucha. Another highlight of the executive treatment of InterContinental Da Nang is that there is a special lounge at Da Nang Airport. The overall environment is relatively simple and may not have been renovated since its completion. Some simple snacks and drinks are provided. The hotel has a shuttle bus to and from Hoi An Ancient Town in the morning and afternoon. The morning bus will also stop in Da Nang city. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
