Coventry Transport Museum — A Hidden Gem You Can’t Get Enough Of!

If you’re in Coventry, the Transport Museum is an absolute must-visit — and trust me, one visit isn’t enough! Located right in the city centre, it’s within easy walking distance of plenty of food spots — we grabbed a bite at Xiong Qi, which I’d also recommend. From the outside, the museum looks fairly understated — a large, plain white building that you might almost walk past. But step inside, and you’ll be blown away. The exhibits are incredible in both scale and detail, covering everything from World War I and II vehicles to modern transport innovations. One of the most memorable parts is the immersive theatre room — complete with alarms, smoke, and light effects — recreating the terrifying night when Coventry was bombed during WWII. It’s haunting, but powerful, and adds so much to the city’s history. But it’s not all just cars and bikes. The museum also explores the evolution of fashion, architecture, and even displays sections of old Coventry streets — complete with road signs and brick walls from the past. It’s one of those museums where time flies, and you realise there’s still so much left to see. Honestly, I’d happily come back again and again — there’s always more to discover!
