As I wandered through the beautifully preserved courtyards, ancestral halls, opera stages, and stone pathways, I was struck by the intricate wood carvings, colorful roof tiles, and the symmetrical elegance of traditional Chinese architecture. Every detail felt intentional — from the solemn altars honoring ancestors, to the ornate doors that once welcomed merchants, officials, and travelers alike. One of the most memorable parts was the opera stage, where traditional performances still occasionally take place. Standing there, it was easy to imagine the lively scenes of the past: music, storytelling, and crowds gathered under lantern light.
