Chongqing, Huayan Temple, and lotus flowers

Today, I went to Huayan Temple and was greeted by a sea of lotus flowers. As I stepped through the temple gate, I was met with a pond full of lotus flowers, with green leaves stretching to the horizon and pink flowers swaying in the breeze. The lotus leaves are like umbrellas, crowded together, holding crystal-clear dewdrops that sparkle in the morning light. Some lotus flowers are still in bud, like shy young girls; some are half-open, as if whispering to the Buddha; some are in full bloom, with petals spread out, revealing their yellow stamens, swaying gracefully in the breeze, like fairies from the pure land of the Buddha, untouched by the dust of the world. The sound of Buddhist chants and the fragrance of lotus flowers at Huayan Temple create a sense of peace and tranquility. In this world, the lotus flowers seem to be listening to the teachings of the Buddha, or conveying the meaning of Zen and compassion to the world. I was captivated by this beautiful scene, forgetting the troubles of the outside world, and felt my soul cleansed by the unique charm of the lotus flowers and the temple, as if I had undergone a spiritual baptism.
