It is the site of the ancient county government of Yongchuan, which was twice established as a county in history. Songgai Ancient Town is known for its 'Seven Wonders,' namely 'A first-class ancient town, ten miles of old streets, a century of vicissitudes, a millennium of cultural heritage, and the Yangtze River stretching for thousands of miles.' The town's features are 'Three Purities and Seven Wonders.' The ancient town has 26 crisscrossing streets and alleys, with Jianshe Road running through it, dividing it into northern and southern areas.
