Khao Sam Muk⛰

Khao Sam Muk is a hill about 45 meters high, located halfway between Ban Ang Sila and Bangsaen Beach in Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province. At the foot of the hill is the shrine of Mae Khao Sam Muk. Khao Sam Muk is a symbol on the seal of Chonburi Province. The name "Sam Muk" appears in a legend that in the late Ayutthaya period, there was a young woman named Sao Muk, a beautiful young woman from Bang Pla Soi who was an orphan. She lived with her grandmother in a hut at the foot of Khao Sam Muk. Later, Sao Muk fell in love with Saen, the son of Kamnan Bai, a millionaire from Ban Hin (Ang Sila). The two promised to love each other forever, but Kamnan Bai opposed their love. Sao Muk decided to jump off a cliff.
