Lingyin Temple

Lingyin Temple (灵隐寺), also known as the "Temple of the Soul's Retreat," is one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples in China. It is located in a scenic area in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, surrounded by lush forests and towering peaks. The temple is nestled in the Wulin Mountains, specifically between Feilai Peak and Lingyin Mountain, providing a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Lingyin Temple is a major site of worship and pilgrimage, historically important for the spread of Buddhism in China. It is also one of the most visited temples in China, drawing both tourists and devotees.Typically from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, but hours may vary depending on the season or special events. There is an admission fee for both the temple and Feilai Peak, which is usually combined into one ticket.The temple is easily accessible from downtown Hangzhou by bus, taxi, or even bike. Hangzhou is well connected by train and is about an hour away from Shanghai by high-speed rail.
