[Saitama Prefecture] Chichibu and Nagatoro 1-day itinerary

During Golden Week, I went on a day trip to Chichibu and Nagatoro in Saitama Prefecture. Seibu Chichibu Station is easily accessible, just 80 minutes from the city center. Here is a classic route that is perfect for a day trip. First, we went to Hitsujiyama Park, famous for its moss pinks. The best time to see them was said to end on April 30th in 2022, but they were still worth seeing in the first week of May. For lunch, we had the specialty pork and miso rice bowl, Nosaka's pork and miso rice bowl bento, which we took out and ate in the park. Currently, due to the effects of COVID-19, they are only open for takeout. We walked to Onohata Station and took the Chichibu Railway to Nagatoro Station. In Nagatoro, we experienced line rafting (river boating). There was also a rapids spot, which was like an attraction. After disembarking, we spent some time relaxing on the rock bed, looking at the river. 1.
