Transportation strategy: It is most convenient to take the train to Chiayi😆 The fare from Taichung is 144 yuan. I suggest you use EasyCard more often, it will give you a 10% discount~ After arriving at Chiayi Railway Station, turn left and walk to Federal Car Rental. This is the cheapest motorcycle rental I found online. It’s only NT$250 a day, and you can get a NT$50 discount with a student ID. (The car model is GP125, it is very new and very fuel-efficient, and only costs two grids for two days of driving) Must-see attractions: When it comes to must-see places in Chiayi, of course it is the largest Japanese-style building complex in Taiwan - Hinoki Village. There are many shops selling handmade items here, including handmade jams, soaps, essential oils, wooden combs, small cloth wallets and backpacks, and leather goods. The small houses are so cute. It’s so pleasant to take beautiful photos here. In addition, January and February are the seasons for larch. We went to the "Misty Pine Realm" which is very popular on Instagram. Although the place is so small that you may feel that the photos are too deceptive, you can still take beautiful photos if you take good pictures 😅😅 Don't doubt the navigation, it's on the roadside! Recommended hotel: The hotel that Xiaowanzi chose this time is the Chia Nan Feng Hua Hotel, which is located in the western district of Chiayi. The lobby of the hotel has high ceilings and the receptionist at the counter is also very friendly. Although the check-in time starts at 3 pm, you can store your luggage first, which is a great service! After getting the room card, you can take the elevator to the room. The door is induction-type and the electronic lock looks new, which is nice. Wow~ the room is so big~~~~~~ As soon as I walked in, I was stunned by the huge room. Not only was the space spacious, but the floor, TV cabinet, and wardrobe were all very clean! And the best part is, this bed is a double, right? It’s so big and soft☺️☺️☺️, I’m going to jump on it right away hahaha. The room had everything it needed: slippers, coffee, tea bags, snacks, and the shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom were squeeze-type and mounted on the wall. There were toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shower caps. The toilet had a bidet, and there was a large space for a bathtub, which was comfortable for taking a bath. The shower room was separated into dry and wet areas, which was great! Must-eat food: There are so many delicious foods in Chiayi, of course I have to eat enough before going home, hahaha! The first stop was the most famous local turkey rice - Minxiong turkey rice. It really lives up to its reputation. The signature chicken rice has distinct grains, and the chicken sauce evenly coats each grain of rice instead of all sinking to the bottom of the bowl. You can taste the aroma of chicken sauce in every bite, which is amazing. The side dishes are all cold dishes, which are quite special. The taste is moderately strong and light, very refreshing. I recommend you to come here when you come to Chiayi! The second stop was Liu Tangyuan, which is recommended by local students. The ice here is so cheap, and the dumplings are freshly made by hand. The auntie is kneading them while her son is making dumplings. They are very quick and efficient💪💪. The glutinous rice balls are big and chewy. The sesame glutinous rice balls are filled with sesame powder, which is different from the filling of the Guiguan. Among the five kinds of ice, there is a crispy round one, which is transparent in appearance with a little color, and it tastes crispy when you bite it. I heard from the table next to me that this is something that can only be eaten in Chiayi. It’s only 35 for a night, it’s delicious and cost-effective👍. In the evening, I went to the Wenhua Road Night Market for a walk and look. I remember that there were not many vendors here when I was a child, and this time seemed to be no exception. There was a long queue for Lin Congming's casserole fish head in the night market. I bought the Zhenzhen seafood porridge recommended by my friend. Personally, I think the pot-fried pasta tastes better, and the porridge lacks freshness. Along the way, I saw a crispy pork shop that was quite attractive. I bought one to try. Hmm, it was unexpectedly delicious and very mouth-watering! There is also a dessert shop in the alley, selling red beans, coix seeds, purple rice, etc. It is called the Little Boss Dessert Shop.
