Wat Phra Sri Rattana

Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram or Wat Phra Kaew is an important and beautiful temple in Bangkok. It is the temple where the Emerald Buddha is enshrined. King Rama I ordered its construction along with the Grand Palace and Rattanakosin. This temple is located in the outer royal palace on the east side. It is surrounded by a terrace. It is a temple of the capital where no monks reside. It is used for royal ordination and the meeting of courtiers to hold the royal water pouring ceremony. There are murals depicting the Ramakien story around the temple terrace. The architecture is beautiful. To visit Wat Phra Kaew, you must dress appropriately and not wear anything shorter than the knee.
