Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Rai, a religious trip

On this trip, we arrived at Mae Fah Luang Airport at around 10 am. We rented a car to drive. It is the most convenient. The first place we will go is Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Rai. This temple is in Mueang District, near the market with a clock tower. It is opposite the hospital. It is not hard to find. Originally, Wat Phra Kaew in Chiang Rai Province was called Wat Pa Yia (Bamboo Forest). However, in 1977, lightning struck an abandoned pagoda. Therefore, a Buddha image covered in gold lacquer was found inside the pagoda. Later, the lacquer chipped off. It was found to be a green Buddha image made of jade, which is the Emerald Buddha. After that, the Emerald Buddha was invited to be enshrined in various places. We bought flowers, incense, and candles to worship and ask for blessings. We also walked to see the beauty of the northern architecture of the temple. The temple also has the Hong Luang Saeng Kaew Museum, where we can study the art and culture of Buddhism in a modern style. The building is in a modified Lanna style, which displays important Buddha images as well as interesting history of ancient Thai art. It is definitely worth a visit.
