When you come to Chiang Mai, you must visit the ancient city, and the three major temples in the ancient city, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, and Wat Chiang Man, are representatives on the to-do list. Compared with the bustling incense of Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang has a central position, and Wat Chiang Man appears more low-key and serene. On the square map of the ancient city, Wat Chiang Man is located in the northeast corner, far away from the hustle and bustle of the central area, but has a unique peaceful atmosphere. 📷📷 Highlights: This temple can be traced back to the 13th century. Inside, there is an ancient pagoda supported by fifteen stone elephants, and two Lanna-style halls. The smaller one houses two Buddhas with the ability to make rain. It is said that during the Songkran Festival every year, they are invited to join the parade. 🔺🔺 tips: Remember not to wear tank tops, shorts or short skirts when entering a temple. For Thai people, wearing all white to a temple is the greatest sign of respect. 🔺🔺 Transportation: You can take a taxi directly or rent a shared bicycle or scooter to explore the ancient city. The temples in the ancient city usually close around 6pm.
