Spiritual Escape in the Northern Breeze

Chiang Mai – A Spiritual Escape in the Northern Breeze 📍 Trip Overview A 3-day, 2-night journey into the heart of Chiang Mai, filled with temple visits, peaceful mountain air, and delicious bites. We based ourselves at the cozy Stay with Nimman, and explored everything from sacred sites to street food gems. 🚩 Sightseeing Route Day 1: Arrived in Chiang Mai → Checked in at Stay with Nimman → Coffee break at Thursdae Café → Enjoyed street food at Chang Phueak Gate → Evening visit to Wat Chedi Luang Day 2: Drove up Doi Suthep → Worshipped at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep → Took photos of cherry blossoms (phaya sua krong) at Doi Pui campsite → Visited the forest temple Wat Pha Lat → Hiked to Monthathan Waterfall → Dinner at the famous Chinese restaurant Jia Tong Heng Day 3: Relaxed morning and flight home 🏖️ Must-Visit Attractions • Wat Chedi Luang: A majestic temple right in the Old City. Serene and powerful, especially under evening lights. • Wat Phra That Doi Suthep: A must-visit mountain-top temple with panoramic views of Chiang Mai. • Doi Pui Campsite: A seasonal favorite when the cherry blossoms bloom — a dreamy pink mountain scene. • Wat Pha Lat: A hidden temple in the forest, perfect for peaceful reflection. • Monthathan Waterfall: A cool and refreshing spot tucked into Doi Suthep National Park. 🚇 Transportation We rented a car for flexibility — super helpful for getting up the mountain and visiting multiple nature spots in one day. City travel was easy by Grab or on foot from Nimman. 📷 Photo Spots • Pink cherry blossoms at Doi Pui • Street scenes at Chang Phueak Night Market • Golden pagoda at Doi Suthep • Lush waterfall and temple trails 🍜 Local Cuisine • Chang Phueak Gate Street Food: Satay skewers, khao kha moo (stewed pork leg), and roti • Jia Tong Heng: Classic Chinese-Thai dishes — the dim sum and roast duck are musts • Thursdae Café: Lovely minimalist space, great coffee and soft-serve ice cream 🏠 Accommodation Stay with Nimman: Right in the heart of the trendy Nimman neighborhood — comfy rooms, walkable streets, and tons of cafes around. Ideal for both relaxation and quick city access. 💡 Tips • Start Doi Suthep early to avoid the crowds and catch the soft morning light • Wear comfortable shoes for temple and waterfall walks • Cherry blossoms at Doi Pui bloom around Jan–Feb — plan ahead! • Bring a sweater if you’re heading up the mountain — it can get chilly even in the dry season #chiangmai #doisuthep
