The Transport Office is run by a Japanese chef who previously opened 3 restaurants in Japan. He retired with his Thai wife in Thailand and opened the restaurant in his own house. The atmosphere of the restaurant is like a Japanese house. There are both table and floor seats in Japanese style. I must say that almost every menu here is delicious. Recommended menus include grilled sun-dried sea bass, grilled teriyaki intestines, grilled chicken skin with salt, pickled cucumbers, plum wine, grilled mochi wrapped in seaweed in soy sauce, red bean mochi. The most delicious items are the katsudon, stir-fried spring onion intestines, kaiseki soup, steamed eggs, chilled watermelon sprinkled with flower of salt, assorted raw fish. There is also mapo tofu, grilled teriyaki squid. The price per person is around 251 - 500 baht. The restaurant is open from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. For those who want to experience authentic Japanese food in a warm atmosphere, Yosa Japanese Restaurant is an interesting option in Chiang Mai.
