Wat Duang Dee is located in the center of Chiang Mai. It is a temple with an auspicious name. It has beautiful architecture such as wood carvings. It was declared an ancient site on October 27, 1981. Inside the temple, there is a nearly 200-year-old Ho Trai, built in 1829. It has a three-tiered roof and a nine-tiered umbrella on top. The door arches, windows, and pillars are decorated with beautiful stucco flower patterns. The highlight of the temple is the white pagoda in Lanna art. It has a recessed square base and four-tiered hexagonal lotus bases supporting a small bell-shaped body decorated with beautiful colored glass. The top is decorated with a five-tiered golden umbrella in the Lanna style. Inside the royal chapel, there is the Phra Phuttha Duang Dee Buddha statue, which is the principal Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture. It was built during the reign of Phra Mueang Kaew in 1496.
